Dec 26, 2015 10:26 PM in response to Maarten van der Smagtby Kuroodetto,You can also authorise when selecting the app in your child's account. However you need to be within the app you want to purchase. When you select 'buy' a notification will come up above the app for the parent to authorise it directly.

Feb 2, 2016 8:39 PM in response to Kuroodettoby jkadams,I've had all of these problems:
1. Trouble finding the notifications
2. Then, finding the notifications but not be able to give permission, and then they go away.
3. Now, I just don't get the notifications, so I have to be present when my child wants to buy something so I can just give permission there.
I will try the logging in and out solutions--but, gosh, it stinks to spend so much time trying to figure this out and then waiting for answers . . .

Jun 12, 2016 3:25 PM in response to Eaglesianby cleopete,This has been bothering me for a long time, finally looked for an answer only to find there is none. It's absurd not to have a console of some sort to manage family accounts from. I understand Apple's lawsuit against Samsung now, Samsung really has stolen Apple's model of selling very nice hardware bogged down with absolute crap software, with a healthy dose of Microsoft's Kafkaesque security hobbles. Thank goodness Apple doesn't monitor this forum in anyway, or listen to customer feedback at all. God forbid they respond to their customers, after all, we're idiots.

Someone said to turn on Notifications for "Family" but I don't see any Family listed under the Notifications setup screen.
It's listed under App Store in Notifications settings.

Aug 29, 2016 10:59 AM in response to Eaglesianby xJodAx,I know this is an old thread, but it seems that the Family sharing "ask to buy" still is buggy as ever. First, I have two daughters, one of them bought a game (Octagon...), ask to buy, I get the notification on my iPhone, tried to approve it, a blank screen with "cancel" on the top left, and "loading.." animation on the middle, and nothing else, and waited forever, it's just stuck in that loading state. Click cancel, and basically the notification is gone and app download is declined. Notification also didn't show up on my Macbook pro. I asked her to try again, while I was logged in on my Mac, and the notification showed up on both my Mac and iPhone. Again I tried approving on my iPhone, same thing, hangs on "loading". But since I saw the notification on my Mac, tried it there, works just fine, I was able to approve the Mac App store game.
Now my second daughter wanted to download the same game. She is not seeing that the game is already purchased by her sister (which both of them is part of my Family sharing). She tried "ask to buy", i saw the notification on my phone, this time again, not showing up on my Mac. Tried to approve again on my iPhone, hangs again on "loading". But this time, since I can't see the notification on my Mac even when I am online, I can't approve the purchase of a Free item, which another family member already purchased. Even if we try again several times. Same experience.
I also tried approving on my iPad, the same happens... loading... forever.
