MacBook Pro does not update software any longer

My MacBook Pro no longer updates the software - stopped at 10.6.8 This has resulted in not being able to update my iPad Mini from the current 7.1.2 to 8.0.2 and iTune 11.. Can I get help from the community?

Should the iTunes update suggested help the issue, then another idea may be

to wait awhile to see what kind of replacement update to iOS will appear; since

there have been a few issues among a cross-section of iDevice users...

At some point, the device may be happiest if left at an earlier and more applicable

system version; especially if it is working well, and if you already have purchased

applications that may be obsoleted or significantly changed in their next versions.

In any event...

Good luck & happy computing! 🙂

According to the system requirements for the iTunes version shown, to work

appear in the Support page, and visible by clicking the small triangle:

System Requirements

  • OS X version 10.6.8 or later
  • 400MB of available disk space
  • iTunes in the Cloud, iTunes Match, and iTunes Radio availability may vary by country
  • iTunes Radio requires OS X version 10.7 or later
  • iTunes Extras requires OS X version 10.9.3 or later

Hopefully this helps, if your computer has OS X 10.6.8 or Later, it should work.

Good luck & happy computing! 🙂

All you would need is iTunes 11.4, plus your iPad can be updated without even using your Mac.

On your iPad Mini, just go to Settings, then General, then Software Update.
