Retrieving download in your dock and finder

I accidentally removed the download icon in my dock and in my finder. They both disappeared in a puff of smoke. How do I get them back??

There should still be a Downloads Folder in your Home Folder that you can drag and drop back onto both your Finder Sidebar and Dock.

This replaced downloads in Finder but, I still cannot replace in the Dock.

When you drag it to the Dock, you must drop it between the Trash and the divider line.
