I can't play a movie I rented on my computer. I have been doing this but it won't let me play this movie and says it is a m4v file. I have Quick time player but still won't let me?

I have been renting the weekly movies. I rented Blue Ruin and it won't play on my computer and says it is a m4v file. I have the Quick Time player and still won't play. How do I get this movie to play or get my money back?
