Q: Iphone 6 running iOS 8.02 showing no sim

I did not have any problems running ios 8 at all.  I only briefly saw for 5 minutes my phone showed No Sim But it went away.  I decided to update to ios 8.02 and it worked for a few hours but now it is showing No Sim again and it is not going away.  I am not having other problems like with Touch ID or with wifi but basically I cant do anything phone related.  Is there a fix to this or an option to downgrade to 8.0 or am I phoneless until Apple releases another update?

Did you already try to update your carrier settings?

Follow these instructions to update your carrier settings:

    1. Make sure your device is connected to the Internet.
    2. Tap Settings > General > About. If an update is available, a prompt will appear.

Note: Occasionally a carrier may release a mandatory update. This type of update will display only an OK button instead of an Update button, to let you know that the update was downloaded and installed.

If you need to know the version of the carrier settings your device has, tap Settings > General > About and look next to "Carrier".

    Additional Information

Note: If you insert a new SIM or micro-SIM card into your iPhone or iPad, you'll need to download the carrier settings for the new carrier wirelessly. Carrier settings are available only for iPhone support carriers and iPad partner carriers. If you're not using a partner carrier, you will need to set up the carrier's settings manually. Refer to your carrier for appropriate settings.

I did check and there are no carrier updates available.  So, in the meantime--I don't want to try and download to 8.0 yet--I am wondering if I put this sim card into my old iphone 5...will it work???

If the old phone used to work with the SIM, there should be no problem putting it back again.

Has the SIM already been activated by the carrier for the use with your new iPhone 6?
