Oct 4, 2014 11:01 AM in response to Arfyfishby Ingo2711,Did you already try to update your carrier settings?
Follow these instructions to update your carrier settings:
- Make sure your device is connected to the Internet.
- Tap Settings > General > About. If an update is available, a prompt will appear.
Note: Occasionally a carrier may release a mandatory update. This type of update will display only an OK button instead of an Update button, to let you know that the update was downloaded and installed.
If you need to know the version of the carrier settings your device has, tap Settings > General > About and look next to "Carrier".
Additional Information
Note: If you insert a new SIM or micro-SIM card into your iPhone or iPad, you'll need to download the carrier settings for the new carrier wirelessly. Carrier settings are available only for iPhone support carriers and iPad partner carriers. If you're not using a partner carrier, you will need to set up the carrier's settings manually. Refer to your carrier for appropriate settings.

Oct 4, 2014 11:54 AM in response to Ingo2711by Arfyfish,I did check and there are no carrier updates available. So, in the meantime--I don't want to try and download to 8.0 yet--I am wondering if I put this sim card into my old iphone 5...will it work???

Oct 4, 2014 12:32 PM in response to Arfyfishby Ingo2711,If the old phone used to work with the SIM, there should be no problem putting it back again.
Has the SIM already been activated by the carrier for the use with your new iPhone 6?
