    Thanks for the question. Based on your question, it seems like you want to know if Ask to Buy is required for free purchases. I would recommend that you read this article, it may be able to help you resolve or isolate the issue.

     

    Request and make purchases with Ask to Buy

    When a family member initiates a new purchase or free download, a request is sent to the organizer if Ask to Buy is on.
