Is there any way to enable "Delete" key without pressing command?

Specifically when working in the finder with an open folder.. I don't want to have to press COMMAND + DELETE every time I want to quickly delete a file..

This is a hassle..

Is there any way to "enable" the "delete" key on your keyboard to actually delete a file if you click on it? (without having to press COMMAND key as well)

Open System Prefs.

Select Keyboard

Select Shortcuts

Select App Shortcuts

Click the + button

From the drop-down menu, select "Finder"

In the Menu Title box type in "Move to Trash" (without the "s of course)

In the Keyboard Shortcut box type in any of the arrow keys.

Click Add.

Explanation: the arrow keys are the only keys that can be a keyboard shortcut without a modifier key. Don't ask me why but that seems to be the case. If you try to assign the Delete key alone as a keyboard shortcut you will get an error beep just as if you had tried to assign any single letters.

I use the right arrow key as my delete key as it points "off" my keyboard.

If you inadvertently delete a file you just do a standard Undo with command-Z.
