I cannot print to my Canon Pixma ip5000. Does anyone have a fix for this?
Thanks!
go to the Canon USA site and install OS X Lion 10.7
select Operating System and scroll down till you see you OS X Lion 10.7, it also works perfectly with 10.8 and later versions
Are you trying to print wireless or networked? Have you tried the Canon site to see if they have a new download available?
Hi Ralph,
I am trying to print over a USB cable. I have looked in the support communities and on the web including the Canon website. Canon writes:
"There is no driver for the OS Version you selected. The driver may be included in your OS or you may not need a driver."
I have also tried printing "without a driver" but Mavericks asks me to add one.
Hope that helps!
Have you seen this:Canon Inkjet Printer Drivers v2.12 for OS X
Hi Ralph,
Yep! Saw this; the frustrating list of Canon Pixmar printer drivers is:
-->
iP4300
iP4500
iP4600
iP4700
iP4800
iP4900
iP6700D
iP7200
-->
It inexplicably skips over any iP5000 series printers!
Oooff!
If you can't find a suitable driver, try VueScan.
It's not freeware, but works perfectly, I use VueScan for an old scanner CanoScan Lide 70.
If you are going to buy, I would choose the Professional Edition.
Good luck!
Hi Raicya,
I do use Vue Scan to operate my CoolPix Slide Scanner currently. How do you use this to set up a printer?
Thanks,
Nik
Does VueScan recognized the canon pixma ip 5000 (System Preferences >> Printers and scanners)?
If the printer is not show in the window, Click + and try to add the canon pixma ip 5000.
Is the canon pima ip5000 an AIO printer? As far as I know AIO printer is supported by VueScan.
