how to transfer music from iphone to macbook pro

I recently bought an album on my iphone 5c from the itunes store, I expected it to transfer straight to my itunes on my macbook pro and my ipad but it hasn't. I've tried to redownload it on my macbook but it wont let me as it says it's 'purchased' on the itunes store but isn't in my library. Please help!!
