Powermac g4 not seeing hard drive?

Hi guys,

So I just recently got a Powermac G4 Quicksilver that had 10.3.9 on its hard drive and inside three other hard drives, two of which were hooked up to a sonnet tempo ultra ata 66 controller card. I installed 10.5.8 through a nifty hack I found online onto one of the other drives. The problem is that 10.5.8 isn't recognizing the controller card because when I run it, two of my hard drives are missing whereas previously on 10.3.9 they showed up. Is there a driver missing or something? If so where could I find it? Or is it something else?

Thanks in advance,

David

What has changed...

Drivers to support more recent hardware development,

in the day, that left an increasingly obsolete OS X behind.

Tiger OS X 10.4.11, the entire run of a whole OS X prior

to the release of a then newer Leopard 10.5.

Support for older hardware and peripherals fazed out.

{perhaps you may find Tiger more compatible?}

Change is the only universal constant... 😐

In the Terminal utility, you get to see the underpinnings beneath the GUI...

This is an access to that which is also referred to as the "Command Line."

Hopefully you will be cautiously curious and learn more about how the OS X

works, since all the tools are built into the computer to write applications, too.

Good luck & happy computing! 🙂
