Transferring photos from a iPad mini to a MacBook Pro

I often need to transfer images from my iPad mini (iOS 7.1) to my Mac Book Pro (Mac OS 10.6.8) I have tried everything including third party software (Wondershare TunesGo for Mac and iMacsoft iPad to Mac Transfer). Both these software worked - at first - and then stopped! That means I have wasted at least £100 trying to connect these two Mac devices. Why is this so hard? I am not very rich and although I have a really high end Nikon digital camera I wanted to use my iPad's camera for taking small photos.

Don't say drop box or iCloud - I have space on both but they are always nagging me to pay more space money

Guess what - I can transfer images onto my daughter's PC with just a cable (of course I then have to use a pen drive to take them home and transfer them onto my MacBook Pro!)

WHY? WHY? WHY? HELP!

Thanks....

Hi Diana,

It sounds like you’re looking for an easy way to transfer photos from your iPad to your MacBook Pro. The article linked below, it’ll walk you through connecting your iOS device to your computer and importing photos using iPhoto, Image Capture, or Aperture.

iOS: Import personal photos and videos from iOS devices to your computer

I hope this helps,

Thanks for your clear and extensive response. I am working all day today so will try your Apple solutions later on this evening. However, reading through those, I know I already tried my iPhoto application and, like the third party software it used to work but now doesn't! I do not use iPhoto as my default image editor as I do not like the way it over writes files ( unless you rush to stop it) I use my Adobe Creative Suite - Photoshop) The only other device I have with photos on it is my Samsung S4 phone (Android) and the only way I can get to download and save my photos is by Dropbox. My MacBook Pro will not work with any of the other transfer software! Why does Apple make everything so difficult! I have no idea how I can get hold of any of the stuff I have backed up on iCloud BTW, I get charged for it per year (£72) but I have not even begun to fight my way through that labyrinth! Anyway, I will try your solutions and respond as soon as I get or don't get through.i'm not a Mac newbie BTW, I had one of the first Macs in 1989 and have stuck with them since.....

Hi Jason,

Well I have tried everything you suggested and got absolutely nowhere! I just cannot get this iPad to connect to my Macbook Pro. I am going to have to take them both to the Apple store in Covent Gardens and see if they can help me figure this out. I've been in contact with the third party software (Wondershare TunesGo for Mac) and even sent them the log files when I've tried to run their programme but they can't figure it out! The most annoying thing is that up until a few months ago it worked fine, I could down load my photos onto my MacBook Pro from my iPad mini just fine.

Thanks for trying Jason,

Diana
