Q: Unable to Stop Family Sharing

I tried family sharing with the family. We all had iPhone 6 running iOS 8.0.2. Good concept, but unfortunately caused more of a headache than it helped. So I'm trying to back out of family sharing. I've removed all members of my Family Sharing. And now I'm looking to "stop family sharing" on my device off my Apple ID. Unfortunately when I click on Stop Family Sharing... button on my iCloud account on iPhone 6, I get the following error message dialog:

"Unable to remove member" - This action cannot be completed at this time.

I have no other members in family share, other than I. I'm the Organizer and just want to disable any aspect of family sharing. Anyone have any luck or suggestion?

Thanks...

iOS 8

Yes. Logged out of iCloud and iTunes accounts on iPhone and iPad. Rebooted iPhone & iPad. Tried over past 2 days on iPad and iPhone, but same error message on each try, unfortunately. Wonder if I should add a family member again and then stop family sharing at that point? I'll give that a try and see what happens.

I was on the phone with Apple for over an hour and I spoke with three different techs and none of them could figure it out.  They said "We have never seen this before".  I had to drop, but next they wanted permission to access my account to see if they could figure it out.

Sounds like they have no clue about how FamilyShare works....Not even close to the quality I expect from Apple.

Same issue here except that in my case I'm trying to add my daughters to family sharing. I get the same error message.

Chatted with support twice and called them once as well. So far no fix.

They said they'll forward it to engineering. It's been two days but nothing yet.

Any luck from anyone here so far?

    HI,

yesterday I had the same problem so I called support my id case is 962715887.

    • They say: we have to look more about this problem and that they were going to talk to engineering, so far I am waiting
    • do you still having the problem?
    • if you want to call them back and mention my id case.
    • Do you have an id case?

    Thanks

Has anyone been able to resolve this issue? I am the family sharing organizer. In order to stop family sharing I had to have my under age 13 daughter's Apple ID deleted in order to remove myself. As soon as her Apple ID was deleted she disappeared from family sharing, but when I try to "Stop Family Sharing" I get the same "Unable to remove member..." notification.
