Q: iphone 6, iOS 8.2 - not syncing to itunes

HELP!!! This is sooo frustrating!!  After updating to iOS 8.2, my iPhone 6 won't sync to iTunes!!  I get one of two messages:

"The iPhone could not be synced because the connection to the iPhone was reset" 

                                                               OR

"The iPhone could not be synced because the sync session failed to start"

All my software is up to date - running OS X 10.9.5, iTunes 11.4, iOS 8.2

restarted my MacBook Pro as well as my iPhone 6 can't seem to rectify this!

Anyone have a solution to this issue??
