An anchor point has lodged in my text. Ball on a stick icon. This is messing up my formatting. How can I remove it?
Have tried backspace delete and cut - will not go away. Cannot see graphic linked to it.

It's not the "ball on a stick" causing the problem – that's 'invisible'. It could be related to a text or picture box. Move the box around and the "ball on a stick" should move with it.

The problem is that there is no text box or container field associated with the 'invisible'. Normally if you delete the object the anchors would also come out. On my computer there doesn't seem to be a way of removing them.
In the screen grab I have two of these things with no associated image. I think this might be a bug 😟

I wouldn't be surprised if it was a bug. Are you sure there is no hidden text or picture box hanging around that you may be able to see by selecting all (as in the image below)?
If I deselect all you would never notice those two little blue boxes, but the "invisibles" still remain.
No, there are no little blue boxes or other stray characters.
