You were looking in Safari. Could have put you there had I a clue that's what you wanted. 😀 But you are now straightened out which is what matters. Good sleuthing. Please be careful where you pry. Stay away from the folders with all the system files. Safer that way.

Although you can use Keychain for all your logins, etc. to be safe you may want to consider storing the data in a separate password vault such as 1Password. It makes managing easier than in Keychain. It can also generate very secure passwords to use with your most sensitive data. Also, works with your iDevices.

Hi

I have never gone into keychain so do not even know where it is, lol i am still working my way round the macbook pro and do not know half or even a quarter of what it can do. the lat time i was in system preferences and found it just by accident, TWICE but not now DOH!!! lol.

i have only ever been into system preferences and i remember it asked me for my apple id password, no problem there just the rest driving me mad lol.

Thanks sweet xx

Your passwords are not stored anywhere accessible through System Preferences. Perhaps you really mean you are looking for a single password. For example, you create passwords for user accounts in Users & Groups preferences. I'm afraid I don't quite follow what you are looking for. Why do you need this information in the first place? Do you remember what you actually found in System Preferences? What sort of password are you looking for? Is it your account password? Is it the password for your Apple ID or iCloud account?

Hi Kappy

sorry, when i was finding my way round the macbook, i was looking at, what i thought was system preferences it might not be then, and i found that this macbook has stored all my log in details and passwords for different places that i have to sign into on the internet, i.e.:, have an account with ebay, and google, and amazon, and so on, it gave my log in details and showed them all and next to each account login in it had the passwords, all with stars, but i unlocked it by putting in my apple password and it showed all the passwords to each account once apple password was input, but cannot remember where the **** i found this lol. i have found keychain on my iPad and on the iCloud in system preferences on macbook and all authorised but do not know where to go now for getting the keychain or know what it does, so getting very confused.

Cheers sweet xx 😕

Oh Kappy i do love you lol, i remember now rolling around the floor laughing at myself now lol.

I was looking fro that on and off for the past 4 hours hehehehee, so so grateful sweet, i do not know what i would do without you experts bless you.

I like to look around but never change any settings unless i know exactly what i am doing, thankfully, its just to get a feel for the device and if unsure, even a little i ask.

Thank you so much sweetie and will no doubt talk again. Thank you muchly

Love Tracey xxx 😀
