I live in a humid country and my macbook pro always moist whenever i go out of an air-conditioned room. is it bad for my laptop and what should i do?

My room has always a cool temperature that whenever i touch my laptop, the metal parts are cold. but whenever i go out of the room, my laptop automatically moistens and are wet due to the moist. I was thinking if this is bad for my laptop and can it affect the parts inside my laptop? Thank you!

MacBook Pro, OS X Server

Hi,

It's certainly not good for the machine. Also may not be good for you with such sudden changes in temperature. Why not turn down the air conditioning a few degrees. Also, you could lay some thin soft cloth between the cover and the body of the laptop for a little while to soak up the moisture but be sure it does not foul the hinge. You could also wrap a cloth or towel around the outside.

Or you could buy some kind of carrier for the laptop.

Good luck.

If your room is air conditioned, it should not only be cool but also relatively dry. And if you are simply moving your laptop to a different location when you leave your room, and that location will also be air conditioned, you'd be best off putting the laptop into a snug plastic bag while it's outside the cool rooms. That way, the humid air can't reach the laptop to condense on and in it.
