WD Elements 1048 (2TB) cannot mount and read/write

new MBP, Mid-201, 15", Mavericks 10.9.5

the external hard driver is WD Elements 1048 (2TB), FAT32, used less than one year, both readable and writable in windows & linux, no failure in windows' scandisk

BUT, the external hard driver cannot mount on MBP. Once it has been plugged, message pops up as:

The disk you inserted was not readable by this computer.

initialize or ignore or eject


The external hard driver can be seen as "disk2s1" (grey) in Disk Utility

verify disk & repair disk show as:


Verifying volume “disk2s1”

Checking file systemChecking volume.

Checking main boot region.

Main boot region is invalid.

Trying alternate boot region.

Checking alternate boot region.

Alternate boot region is invalid.

The volume could not be verified completely.

Error: This disk needs to be repaired. Click Repair Disk.


Verify and Repair volume “disk2s1”

Checking file systemChecking volume.

Checking main boot region.

Main boot region is invalid.

Trying alternate boot region.

Checking alternate boot region.

Alternate boot region is invalid.

The volume could not be verified completely.

Volume repair complete.

Updating boot support partitions for the volume as required.

Error: Disk Utility can’t repair this disk.

Back up as many of your files as possible, reformat the disk, and restore your backed-up files.



Although other people has similar situation before, they can read/write just with previous warning

Mine is totally not readable/writable

Any idea will be appreciate

MacBook Pro with Retina display, OS X Mavericks (10.9.5)
