How do I clear the contents of clip board on an I pad

Selecting and copying a blank space will clear the clipboard of a previous item an not add anything new other than a blank space.

I don't think you can actually clear it...you can overwrite what's in the clipboard and that should clear out what was previously there. Just copy a word from a webpage or a note and that should be all that the clipboard will have stored.
