Where is my verification email

I changed my primary email/apple id but I am not getting the verification email. The email is no in the trash/junk. I can send/receive messages from the selected account. It is entered properly on the apple id website. I have given it plenty of time to come through, and have requested it to be resent three times. I have logged on and off. I can log on to the apple site as well as the iCloud site with this new id. What is up?
