How do you backup HealthKit data to iCloud?

I know that backing up your iOS device to iCloud takes care of storing this data to be reclaimed if you restore your iPhone from a backup. However, is there a way to just backup the HealthKit data itself so if you have a problem and have to start with a clean device that you don't lose this information? It would suck to collect all of this data and then lose it because of a bug that requires a clean restore. I know it was mentioned on the HealthKit site that this data could be backed up to iCloud, however I'm not sure how. Any thoughts?

I don't think you can. From what I've read on the Apple Support site, to backup Health data you have to use iTunes AND turn on encrypted backup otherwise the health data is NOT backed up.

Health is mentioned in the following support page:

Should I use iTunes or iCloud to back up my iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch? - Apple Support

What iCloud backs up is listed here:

iCloud: iCloud storage and backup overview

Health is not mentioned at all in the above link so it looks like encrypted iTunes backup is the only way.
