Restoring iTunes to new computer

Will this require my phone to re sync all files? ie. Deleting everything on the device and re syncing with the same data.

I have done the copy/paste method for my music from one computer to another, however it then requires a full re-sync on my phone. Now that I'm sitting with over 60gbs of iTunes data I would like to avoid this.

If I follow the process of restoring in this article will that be avoided?
