Hardware quality issue

My 13 inch macbook pro (late 2013 haswell) keyboard's black color is fading out on the spacebar and now there's a white patch on it and growing. Also the aluminium body is suddenly getting somehow "corroded" by itself and that patch is getting bigger and bigger near the trackpad. It is concerning the quality of the build materials used. I use damp cloth to clean the macbook. I have registered the problem at the Apple service center but they did not turn up . It has been more than two weeks since I've reported it to them. Please guide me.

These wear issues are typically caused by how you use the machine. If you think it should be repaired then take it in for service. However, you will have to pay for any repairs if the computer is not in warranty. If it is in warranty the repairs are only covered if they are not due to negligent usage or normal wear and tear.

I am not that much concerned about the Space bar button. I have it in warranty. I would even pay for the Spacebar. But that patch on the aluminium is what i am worried about. It occurred on its own AND it is growing! and I dont think it is "normal" wear and tear. It is aluminium right not a cloth.

That happens with some users who have a body chemistry that will 'attack' the aluminum. Some what rare but not unusual.

:l That is well the part when my palm rests 😟 , oh no. Is this covered under warranty ? Its not what I have done deliberately! Would Apple be kind to replace it ?

Only an Apple employee can give you a definitive decision. My opinions do not matter here.

My MBP has similar pitting in that spot, but I just don't worry about it.
