Brother MFC-6490CW not working with os x mavericks

I updated my mac to the OS X Mavericks 10.9.5 and now my Brother MFC-6490cw won't print from my computer. I was using it wirelessly thru my wireless router and even by plugging it into my mac via USB it shows to be offline. I also have other printers in my printer list that I don't want to loose if I do a reset printer function on the printer page. HELP!!??!!
