retrieving deleted photos from iphone 5s

I have an iPhone 5s, took some photos and accidentally deleted them from my phone. I'd like to know how to retrieve these photos on iCloud.

Did you completely delete them? The "Photos" app in iOS 8 has a "Recently deleted" album like a Trash bin. You can restore deleted photos from this album in the album tab. The deleted photos are kept for a month in this album.

To restore a deleted photo from iCloud check "My Photo Stream" on a mac, that has Photo Stream enabled.

Check the "Recently Deleted" folder, your deleted photos will be saved there for about a month and you can recover them from this folder. If not found, check iTunes or iCloud backups, you can use these two programs for recovery only when you did backups before. If no backups, iPhone data recovery is the last option for you. With it you can get back the lost data directly from iPhone.

Or try a free utility* to try & retrieve lost or semi-deleted yet still existing images from

storage devices including hard disk drive, flash memory (solid state, etc) and others.

This is not super easy but is cross-platform and should allow you to find image files by

their type even if the main system they were stored in is damaged. And one can custom

fine image files or other information by type through modifying the utility itself. This is to

look into a storage or drive itself, or other external physical storage media, not iCloud.

to an Apple Authorized Service Provider

So there are pitfalls to some recovery methods.

Try what Léonie suggests, or ask an Apple pro."

{This is a re-post, first try was removed by Host due to accidental reference to methods

not advocated by me -- that would be a deal breaker, which I'd intended to warn about.}

Any software method to recover your files not authorized by Apple could be seen

as an intrusion into their space. Even if you own the device. So ask a Genius to

see what they suggest before you turn your iPhone into a fishing sinker.

I would.

By those last words, I mean I would turn it into a fishing sinker.

Generally, you can retrieve deleted photos from iPhone by following 3 ways:

1. Restore the deleted photos from iCloud if you have done some backups before.

2. Extract everything from an iTunes Backup if you have synced pictures to iTunes before.

For above methods, you can follow the official tutorial for more details:

Back up and restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch using iCloud or iTunes - Apple Support

3. If you do not have any iCloud/iTunes backup files, there is still a chance to recover them by some third-party tool by directly scan. You can google for it. If it still doesn't work out, I think they are gone forever...
