How do I restore only pictures and contacts from my last back up

ok so I used my upgrade to get the iPhone 5 2 years ago. My lock button stopped working so I used my warranty and got a new one(this happenEd around last February). So I reatored that phone fron my back up and the iMessage wouldn't not work right. It would send one message, cut off, for about 20-30 min then the second message would finally go through and all my other messages from other people would come through. So I just dralt with it because after all it was a free new phone. But it just started botherig me lately it woild make my phone get very hot and drain my battery rapidly. So I finally got in touch with an apple supervisor and got a new phone sent to me expecting it to be fixed. Well I got home and restored it and... It didnt fix it. The apple supervisor told me to try to set it up as new so I did and that worked! But since i cant restore this phone completely because it will mess up my iMessaging, I lost all my photos and contacts. what I'm asking is, is there a way to only load my photos and contacts to this phone with out restoring completely. I could not save all of my stuff to iCloud because messaging and documents was taking up 6gbs and when I would delete them they would just come back. So im desperate to know if there is anything I can do!

If you imported the photos to the computer before getting rid of the device, you can sync them over via iTunes. Contacts should also be synced to a supported application on the computer. If you did that, you could just sync them back to the new device via iTunes. You cannot do selective restore from a backup. It is either all or none. Since it appears that you have something corrupted in the backup that is causing your problems, I'd say you are not going to be able to get the photos and contacts back unless you imported the photos and synced the contacts.
