Application-specific password works for 30-40 minutes and then is rejected as incorrect.

I use Fantastical for my Calendar. After generating an application-specific password, it works perfectly (eg there is a two-way sync between Fantastical and iCloud). However, after 30-40 minutes I am told that the password is incorrect and have to generate a new application-specific password. This is happening on two different computers. How do I get the application-specific password to work permanently?

I have the same issue with (probably) Fantastical, which probably started in the last 3 or 4 days - its driving me crazy! A box pops up demanding my iCloud password, which I enter. It simply rejects it and the box immediately pops up again, leaving the only option to hit cancel. I'm not sure if this is supposed to be an application specific pasword or not so I've tried both app specific and the account password; both have the same effect, i.e. none.

Odd thing is, occasionally it won't pop up at all for an hour or so after I've booted up, and on occasion has just disappeared for an hour or so. I've tried disk repair, keychain repair and fixing permissions. I have an idea it might be a keychain issue, but I have no idea what exactly is wrong.
