How do I export .m4a files from Messages app to a non-Apple user?

I have an Ipad 2, 32GB with the latest update.

I receive recordings of songs (between 2 & 90 minutes) through another apple user using the Messages app. I want to send those files on to a non-apple user through email, or however I can.

There is an option to Share by Mail once I have the recording opened. However, when I use that feature to send emails (to myself or to others), it does not appear in my Sent Mail, nor do I/others receive it. Occasionally it will appear in my outbox as unsent mail, but then disappear. But it does make a whooshing sound.

Is there another way to export these files? Any knowledge would be greatly appreciated...

Thank you so much! I never comprehended Dropbox so I just learned it and it seems to have solved my problems. I can now save the file to dropbox, and then, linking Dropbox to a computer, have a hard copy of that file synced to the computer. Sweet!

And yes, you were also right about my email controlling the file size. Gmail only accepts files up to 25mb and mine was larger. It would be cool if my iPad would tell me that it couldn't send it, but oh well.

Thanks again!
