Q: Can't format former Boot Camp partition

So I stupidly erased my Boot Camp partition using Disk Utility rather than in the Boot Camp Assistant. And now I the partition is stuck as free space and i can't change it. When i select the free space in Disk Util, I can change it to Mac OS Extended and ExFAT as usual, but when I press apply, the progress bar appears for a brief second and disappears. Then it acts as if I never pressed apply; when I close the window, it says that I have unsaved changes. The free space does not appear as a drive in the left sidebar.

I have tried reinstalling OS X, I've tried returning to a time machine backup, I've verified and repaired the disk, but nothing has worked.

I'm left with 67GB of space unusable on my macbook now.

MacBook Pro with Retina display, OS X Mavericks (10.9.4)

Yes that's exactly right...I said yes to it when I first installed Yosemite and didn't even make a connection with this process disrupting my Boot Camp attempt. Once it's done, should things work out?

On your first point, my primary drive is a 256GB SSD. I swapped out my optical drive and replaced it with my original 750GB HD using an Optibay drive kit.

Hello to Loner T, I am your new French fan. I had the same problem with the BootCamp disk and read all that you indicated before, i know nothing about terminal but i tried and... i'am busted.

So, i'am looking for a simple explanation, my disks are already erased, i want just to have them in a single volume (Fusion Drive 3To) because now i see four of them, 3To in differents disks and another one with the SSD of the fusion drive.

I take a copy of what i see in the terminal and the disk utilities.

With this single volume, i'am going to install a new Yosemite and recover all of my stuffs with my Time Machine.

    Can you help me, please?

PS: My iMac is a Core i7 3To Fusion Drive late 2012.

    Terminal:

But may I suggest a new thread containing this diskutil cs list and a diskutil list from the Terminal. You may have to use Command+Opt+R so your internal physical disks have no filesystems or files being accessed.

It is tricky to use Internet Recovery (Command+Opt+R) and WiFi. Is there a possibility of using a wired connection? It may not be able to download 1.8+ GB over wireless without some errors and may abort repeatedly.

If you have OS X Mavericks on an external disk - OS X: Installing OS X on an external volume - Apple Support, it will work too.

No, i told you, i cannot format the disk, i take you a picture of the Disk Utility Interface.

When i launch an installation from the USB Key, I have these choices:

    Plein le Q.jpg

None of them invite me to format the entire HD of the iMac, if i install Yosemite, it would be only on one of them.

You posted the output of diskutil cs list from Terminal. If you can post the output of diskutil list and boot from the USB key, I can give you commands to create a single 3TB Fusion drive.

    5. Erase "BOOTCAMP" CS Volume group - diskutil cs delete D28B755F-B6F4-49D7-8B26-9B1782F1E2E4

These commands will delete all CS volumes and volume groups. Please run diskutil cs list to confirm. Do not touch Disk Utility UI, otherwise we will need to start all over again.

Please re-run diskutil list because OSX will change  /dev/diskN where N will change.
