Q: icloud won't connect to my windows devices

I have had a windows surface and a windows phone for a while now and have had my icloud mail working fine on them. However, today it has stopped working in both devices but is still fin on my iPod. My phone comes up with this message when I go onto my mail: "We're having a problem downloading messages. Make sure you have a connection and you account information is correct, then try again. My phone is connected to WiFi and has signal. I have tried retyping in the password but the message above just keeps appearing. There is also an error code which is 85050025

    You probably need to create an app-specific password for the app you are using to sign into your iCloud email account, as explained here: Using app-specific passwords.  These are now required for if your ID is using two-step verification.  Once you create the app-specific password, use that as the password for your iCloud email account when setting it up in your email client.

    Also trying a Windows Phone (Lumia 930) next to my Mac & iPad & had that Problem. 1st created a an app-specific Pw but this didn't work. Just deleted it and created a new one, deleted the icloud Account on the Lumia and now after re-installing, it works :-)
