Oct 11, 2014 1:06 PM in response to Yevuby lllaass,★HelpfulBased on the timing it seems to be due to interference for other sources that operate in the frequency you are using. See:
Wi-Fi and Bluetooth: Potential sources of wireless interference
Try changing the channel that the router uses. Also, if have a router that uses both the 2.4 and 5GHz bands try using on one band,

Oct 11, 2014 1:15 PM in response to lllaassby Yevu,Also, looking through the link you showed me, I should say that there is no barrier between me and the router. I am sitting 2 metres from it. Someone next to me does not have the same problem with there older macbook.

Oct 11, 2014 1:30 PM in response to lllaassby Yevu,The Router is a Thomson Router, the information form UPC (the provider) does not tell me any more than that. From a quick look on line it seems it could be dual band. both 2.4 and 5 ghz.

Oct 11, 2014 4:00 PM in response to Yevuby Linc Davis,★HelpfulPlease read this whole message before doing anything.
This procedure is a diagnostic test. It’s unlikely to solve your problem. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
The purpose of the test is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party software that loads automatically at startup or login, by a peripheral device, by a font conflict, or by corruption of the file system or of certain system caches.
Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards, if applicable. Start up in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. You must hold down the shift key twice: once when you turn on the computer, and again when you log in.
Note: If FileVault is enabled, or if a firmware password is set, or if the startup volume is a software RAID, you can’t do this. Ask for further instructions.
Safe mode is much slower to start up and run than normal, with limited graphics performance, and some things won’t work at all, including sound output and Wi-Fi on certain models. The next normal startup may also be somewhat slow.
The login screen appears even if you usually login automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
Test while in safe mode. Same problem?
After testing, restart as usual (not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of the test.

Oct 12, 2014 3:06 AM in response to Linc Davisby Yevu,Hi Linc,
Thanks a lot for your response..I can tell you that in safe mode the internet did not seem to drop out. I am back in ordinary mode now and just testing whether it is now working without dropping. I will update as soon as I have tested for an hour.

Oct 12, 2014 3:38 AM in response to Yevuby Yevu,At the moment, it seems as though it is working and not cutting out. Thanks for the help! Would going into safe mode have reset something?

Oct 12, 2014 7:39 AM in response to Yevuby Linc Davis,Safe booting causes some caches maintained by the system to be rebuilt, and sometimes that's all it takes to solve a strange problem.

Oct 14, 2014 6:48 AM in response to Linc Davisby Yevu,Update, My connection has began dropping again at 15 minute intervals. It is very frustrating because it disrupts skype calls.
I should reiterate that the WIFI appears to still be on, but the connection is not working.
