age of empires 3/ gameranger help on OS X 10.9

Hey all,

I'm running OS X 10.9 and i tried to play Age of empires 3 online with gameranger and apparently since the 10.9 update, gameranger doesnt work. So my question is, is there an alternative to gameranger where i can play Age of empires 3 online? If not, is there a way to maybe make a partition on my drive to run 10.8 on it and install and use gameranger on that partition? Anything will help! I dont really want to have to downgrade my whole laptop to 10.8, i was hoping i could do it on a partition of my drive or something. Thanks!

MacBook Pro (13-inch Mid 2010), OS X Mavericks (10.9.2), Age of Empires 3/ Gameranger

You can create a new partition on your hard drive using Disk Utility/Partition. Use the //// at the bottom right of the current partition to make empty space at the bottom. The select the space and click the +. Chose a name, click the Option button and select GUID. Then format if Mac OS Extended (Journaled). Hit Apply.

If that is all you are planning to do on that partition, ~30 - 50 GB should be more than enough.

Download Mountain Lion and point the installer at the new partition. Then run the combo update and then any other updates.

10.8.5 Combo Update
