Unknown Error (-200)

i have the same problem there is no help on apple website i have tried to reinstall but get same thing

I get the same message. I have no idea what's wrong.. I've reinstalled umpteen times, but still get that message.

Hey Apple - help us please! My ipod was working just fine until I down loaded the new version. Now I cannot use iTunes or update my iPod. Frustrated to say the lease.

fortiori, the -200 is caused by a problem with your QuickTime. (itunes needs a properly functioning QuickTime in order to work properly.)

the first thing we'll try is a careful standalone QT 7.1.3 reinstall.

download and save a copy of the QT 7.1.3 standalone installer to your hard drive. (we'll run the install from there rather than online.) switch off antivirus and antispyware applications prior to the install.

if that install goes through okay, does your itunes launch properly again?

(if you get an error message on the QT standalone reinstall, let us know what it says. include error message numbers if you're getting any.)

i download that stand alone quicktime and i still get the error (-200) message... is there anything else i can do to fix this???

after you downloaded the installation file, did you start the installation? (double-click the QuickTimeInstaller.exe file.)

My computer tells me I have the latest version of quicktime installed. If I try to run quicktime by itself I get a runtime error which I have never received before.

QuickTime may need to be reinstalled. Follow the steps below to uninstall QuickTime and then download and install QuickTime using the QuickTime standalone Installer.

1. On the Start menu, click Control Panel.
2. Open the Add or Remove Programs control panel and select QuickTime in the list of currently installed programs.
3. Click the Remove button and follow the prompts to remove QuickTime from your computer.
4. Download the QuickTime standalone installer from
http://www.apple.com/quicktime/download/win.html.

Note: There are two options for downloading QuickTime, be sure to select the second option that does not include iTunes.

* If during the download your choose to run the installer, proceed to the next step.
* If you chose to save the download, double click the QuickTimeInstaller file.
6. Follow the on-screen instructions to install QuickTime.
7. Reopen iTunes.

is that when you try doing a QT standalone install in order to try to get past a -200, thewebweasel?

I am running on the latest version of OS-X and I still have the problem. I removed itunes.app and quicktime.app, and their plist files. Then I downloaded the latest itunes and latest quicktime. I installed them separately and still get the error.
Have any ideas?
