I have music loaded on my PC in ITunes but cannot get it on my new IPhone 6, why?

The article referred to did not solve my problem which is the same, cannot get music onto iphone 6. My 5S worked great with the new music library but the 6 won't do anything. I've tried with icloud library on and off and nothing. I select add to my music, i get the check mark that indicates its added but it doesn't go in the library. This is SO frustrating!
