How to stop Calendar app from asking for my icloud password every 5 minutes

Having the same annoying issue pop up every half hour. It won't recognize my password. Everything else that requires my password works.

Calendar icon with "Your iCloud password for xxxx@mac.com is incorrect. Please ensure you are entering the correct password for your iCloud account."

However if I try to sign out of my iCloud account on my iMac, or uncheck Calendars (theoretically to keep it as I can with Contacts,) it wants to delete my Calendar data from my Mac, telling me it'll be on my devices. Fine, but I want my Calendar on my Mac too! Deleting it is like throwing my agenda book away where I work. Everything should sync on the Mac and devices, not just iCloud.

I don't know how to manage this. There it is again… cancel. again. and again.

Somebody out there with an answer please?

Why does Fantastical ask for my iCloud password after enabling two-factor authentication for iCloud?

Apple recently made a change and now requires app-specific passwords when using two-factor authentication with iCloud. Please read this on how to set it up: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT6186.

If you've set up an app-specific password and Fantastical is still not accepting the new password, make sure that you aren't accidentally pasting in a return with the password. iCloud's website will include a return at the end of the password if you copy and paste the password directly from the iCloud website, which will cause the app-specific password to be rejected.

I copied and pasted password into the password window which popped up after I clicked on the Fantastical anchor symbol at the lower lefthand bottom (desktop Mac version.) So it could have been Fantastical asking for the password! Thanks for bringing that up!

I have a similar question that has to do with an calendar app (Fantastical). When an application password is made for an app on one device, is a separate one needed for the same app on another device? I made one for Fantastical on MBA and no longer getting the request for iCloud password. I made a different app password for Fantastical on iMac. The Fantastical on the iMac won't accept it and continues to ask. It is annoying!. I would also like an answer. Maybe the answer is related.

Fantastical not updating requests (desktop app). "Could not authenticate to server; ignored x-mobileme-authtoken challenge, rejected Basic challenge." Huh?

I swear the Fantastical Help section is not written for end-users.

Hello all, who had/have this password issue. Fantastical issued an update via the App Store Updates that fixed this problem. Updated with 2-step authentication two days ago, and the irritating password incorrect box no longer pops up (like every half hour.) Hurray.

Sorry about the false alarm. Fantastical's update did not fix the problem. Just when I thought the problem was resolved the day before (with no alerts all day,) the password request box popped up again today. The only thing the update did resolve was tell you it is indeed Fantastical requiring the password. The only way not to see it, is to quit Fantastical. Having to input a new 2-step authentication every day is totally ridiculous.

My problem with Fantastical seems to be corrected. I have not received any notices for four days. I used assigned app passwords from both Apple and Google as I use both calendars synch with Fantastical. I had to enter the new app passwords 2 or 3 times but they finally resolved the problem. After receiving each password, I saved them so I could retrieve them. One must read the request closely to use the password being requested.

Hi Stanlee. Had to reach out to the Fantastical tech squad. Basically told me to do what I'd been doing all week. However, he had me delete a code in my Keychain ID and obtain a new (another) 2-step authentication code and sign in with it. That was this morning, so far so good at the moment. Will see tomorrow. Thanks again.

I turned on my iMac this afternoon, and the same message popped up. Again. I agree, I'm assuming it's Fantasical due to the icon. I'm at a loss what's causing it.
