My iPhone shows 4 pending updates, but the "Update All" button is greyed out and if I select "Update" next to any of them, the app opens rather than updating. All was well until a few days ago, and there have been no changes that I am aware of. I tried shutting off the phone but problem remains. Ideas?

Same here. Iphone 5, Ipad 2, both with IOS 7.04. Started 2 days ago. Statring to see a lot more discussions about this recently. No fix that I can aee yet.
Yes i'm on ios 7.1. I hope this isnt Apples way of 'forcing' us to update !
I've got an iphone 4s and i've read ios8 runs like a dog on the iphone 4s so i dont want to update.
Frustrating as this issue has happened for a while now, just cant update certain apps

The concern is that apple apparently is not aware there is a problem.
Sadly i thought that was the case. The guy i spoke to on the phone was useless and came out with the standard stock answers etc.
I've opened up another case, but just frustrating.
Which tells you they are probably not working on it.
Totally agree. I doubt they're working on it, none of their advisors are getting it right and are coming out with the useless 'update to ios8' reply.
Just expected more from Apple and i'm disgusted how badly they're treating all of this. Android dare i say it is looking more and more tempting if this is how they deal with loyal customers with the Apple answer of basically 'have you tried switching it on and off again'. Just ridiculous replies to the queries
