Oct 18, 2014 2:59 PM in response to bobby_dby Norman Duke,After 2 hours with Apple support chat, the problem was solved. Kudos to the support team. I had some kind of flaw in the iPhone software that would not allow pages>iCloud to remain turned on. I finally dod a complete restore from iTunes. I took quite a while but Pages documents are now uploaded to my iPhone.
