can't paste into iTunes lyrics

It seems like you can only paste the first line.

If you cut two or more lines you won't be able to paste it!

I ran into this 'solution' as well and now use BBEdit to quickly replace all line breaks with a character (e.g. a bullet) that I can quickly replace after pasting the entire text as one line in iTunes.

My guess is, that Apple has done this for legal reasons; to prevent automatically adding lyrics from online sources with scripting or another application.

Reinstall iTunes with the installer downloaded from http://www.apple.com/itunes/.

This has fixed the problem for me and has also fixed: Problem with updating Itunes 12.0.1

Have you tried to reinstall iTunes with the version that can be downloaded from http://www.apple.com/itunes/ ?

In my case, that fixed a number of problems I had with iTunes 12…

Just updated to iTunes 12.0.1 and it's working normally again. It was probably just a bug in the .0 release.

Thank god, if Apple gets any one bit more strict with their anti-piracy paranoia I'll be forced to find a new player. But I don't think they would do this, I've bought albums in the iTunes Store and they come with no lyrics included. Adding them manually from the internet is the only solution.

K so, even with the reinstall, I can't put lyrics on one of my albums..and it's really irritating me because I just got this album and know not a single song >.<

you can,t add lyrics of that song because it,s been checked to read-only .
follow these steps :-
1. right click on the song in itunes of which you are not able to copy lyrics
2. then click on show in explorer
3. click on song properties then in general tab uncheck read only tick .
you are done now you can copy/type lyrics to that

This was really helpful, I tried different thinks and none of that worked it out.

A simple procedure solved this annoying issue.

same here but I can't even type it manually and it says there is no lyrics for any of my songs and all of them have tasking in it
