Q: I have a brand new Ipod nano (7th generation). I have just tried to put my music on and havane synced it with my Mac Pro. The nano is just dead, nothing is coming onto the screen no matter what buttons I press. Is it locked somehow?? Any suggestions?

I have a brand new I Pod nano (7th generation). It is 2 days old. I have just tried to put my music onto it and have synced it with my computer (Mac Pro). The computer recognises it, and says sync is successful. The nano is just dead. It does not turn on no matter what buttons I press. I have already restored and done it twice, but still is doesn't turn on. Any suggestions?

    Hi joannefromhkg,

If your iPod nano (7th generation) will not turn on at all I would suggest that you troubleshoot using the steps in this article -

iPod nano (7th generation): Hardware troubleshooting

    Specifically -

Follow these steps if your iPod a power-related issue.

Will not turn on or screen remains dark

    • Connect iPod to power for at least ten minutes to ensure that the battery has enough charge to allow iPod to turn on.
    • If iPod does not turn on after ten minutes, try resetting it while it is still connected to power. Reset the iPod by holding down the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button for at least six seconds or until you see the Apple logo appear.
    • If the Apple logo appears on the display, connect iPod to a computer and verify that it appears in iTunes and can play music. If iPod appears in iTunes and can play music, no further troubleshooting is needed.
    • If the screen remains dark and will not turn on, then your iPod may need service.

    And -

    Issue not resolved

If the issue is still not resolved, please read this information on servicing your iPod.
