How do I create a new genre in itunes 11
Errm, I've been using iTunes for 10 years, and this iTunes 12 has me stumped. There is no "custom" at the top of the list. All there is is a drop down of all my existing genres. ****** if I can see how to create a new genre.
Click on the song, go to File>Get Info (or click Command+I) and type in the Genre name you want at the bottom of the Info tab. Once you have created a Genre name, you can then assign it to other tracks the same way. Also, once you have set it up, you can just start typing the Genre name in the box, and it will auto-select it for you. You can also select a group of tracks and change it on all of them at the same time. You will get a warning, just indicate that you are OK with changing Info on multiple tracks.
Cheers,
GB
Go to single or multiple choice songs and get info. When highlighted, right click and go into "get info" scroll up genres list until you see "custom" at the top. Click it, and create a new genre of your choice.
Hmm, I see this is only an issue for movies.
Just click on the Genre name - it turns into a purple box, type in whatever you want. You didn't have to pick "Custom" to do this before either.
Cheers,
