My phone fell in water and I put it in rice and everything works but now I can't get the charger in the charging thing. Like it won't go in... What do I do?

First of all, you are fortunate that everything works. Secondly, I agree that rice may be the culprit in the charging port. However there is a chance that your trying to fix it could actually harm the port and cost you, so I suggest you first get under a bright light and use a magnifying glass to see exactly what and where the obstruction is. Attempting to connect the charging cable has probably already forced the obstructing substance further down into the port. Obviously the port is small and will require some kind of tool to help you remove whatever is in there. I suggest a plastic toothpick that is not likely to break and shouldn't do damage to the contacts. Tweezers may be useful but if utilized be very cautious not to scrape anything if at all possible.

I had the same experience and you need to look inside the charger connection of your iphone to see if there is really rice stuck. if there is, use a very small and pointy scissors (ex. eyebrow scissors) and carefully find a way to take it out. I tried many things but this solution was very effective and in seconds I was able to use of my phone again.

Bend out a paper clip, stab the rice and hook it out.

There is a piece of rice stuck in the charger hole. Use a tiny pin to pick it out or some other tool, a vacuum, or something. We can't help further.

I had the same problem but instead of looking up how to properly take out the rice I Jamed it in really deep with a wooden stick thing what I’m trying to say is if you can’t find a small pin use a paper clip or what I did was I got the thing that opens the SIM card thing I don’t know what to call it the little key thingy worked just fine

Okay I dropped my phone in a pool today and I put it in rice when i got home. I took apart my phone and everything seemed dry. I put it back into rice just to make sure and when i took it out to charge a piece of rice was stuck in the port. I used a pin to break apart the rice slowly and it eventually broke and I can use my port. Hope this helps 🙂

Mines got stuck horizontally and I have tried breaking the rice in half but it won't work. any suggestions?

Omg same!! Idk if it's rice or just a bit of the charging port but I think it's rice cos my charger goes in further w my ipod

Hello I had the same problem and what happened to my phone is that a small piece of rice got stuck in the input just get a pin and clean out the input it work on mine. Good luck

Same thing happens litterly last night

Rice got stuck in the charging port...I'm soooo glad I'm not alone!

I've tried all of this and it's still stuck idk what to do. I started crying bc I don't want to get in trouble for it bc this is my first iPhone I've always had Samsung. And yeah idk please helo
