i pad 2

i have an ipad 2 and when i pug into the wall socket it says " connect to i tunes " but when i connect to the computer i just get a black screen. I have tried rebooting but still no luck .

From your post it appears that your iPad is in recovery mode, but iTunes is not detecting it. First I'd like you to ensure it is actually in recovery mode by following the first article below. If it is, and you still do not see the iPad in iTunes, follow the directions in the second article, then you may restore it in iTunes.
