I bought a listed Iphone 5S from a site, but it was blacklisted. I was told by a friend you can use it as a ipod, how can I do that?
Is it possible to use a deactivated sim card for it aswell?

Can I use a simcard to activate it even when its blacklisted? Because when i tried to connect to itunes it said I needed a simcard.
If you read the support document, you have to have a SIM in the device to finish the activation. It does not have to be an active SIM. I'm not sure if it will finish the activation with an inactive SIM, but it should unless you are using a SIM from the carrier that blacklisted the device.
Tthe purpose of the blacklist is to prevent stolen phones from being used by the thief.
No carrier will activate it.
