Q: Reminders not syncing properly with iCloud and iOS 8

I have an iMac running OS X 10.9.4 and an iPhone 6 Plus running iOS 8.0.2.  I use Reminders on both my iMac and my iPhone and iCloud is turned on for both devices.

If I create a reminder on my iMac, I can see it immediately when I log in to iCloud.com and go to Reminders.  It does not show up on my iPhone.  If I edit this reminder on either the iMac or iCloud.com, the changes sync immediately between the iMac and iCloud.com but NOT my iPhone.

If I create a reminder on iCloud.com, it immediately shows up on my iMac.  It does not show up on my iPhone.  If I edit this reminder on either the iMac or iCloud.com, the changes sync immediately between the iMac and iCloud.com but NOT my iPhone.

If I create a reminder on my iPhone, it shows up on my iMac and iCloud.com.  If I edit this reminder on either the iMac or iCloud.com, the changes sync immediately between the iMac and iCloud.com but NOT my iPhone.

In order for any edits/deletes to sync to/from the iPhone, I either need to create the event on the iPhone, at which point it syncs any other changes, or I need to create a new dummy event and then delete it, at which point it syncs any other changes.

Basically, it seems like the iPhone needs to initiate a "hey iCloud, here are changes from my end.  Oh, there are changes from other devices?  OK, I'll show those changes" protocol, otherwise it just doesn't receive any updates from iCloud.

I don't think it's an issue with my iCloud account, since Reminders on my iMac and Reminders on iCloud.com sync just fine.

On my iPhone, I have tried:

-Force quitting and re-opening the app

-Changing the Reminders sync options (Settings -> Reminders -> Sync)

-Turning Reminders off and back on under Settings -> iCloud -> Reminders

-Turning the iPhone off and back on

None of those methods have fixed this issue.

Is anyone else experiencing a similar issue or is this unique to my iPhone?

iMac, OS X Mavericks (10.9.4)

Entering the password in settings helped me, thanks!

Your workaround seem to be a reasonable one. I just had to change to "All Reminders" and then immediately I have got everything synched up with my Mac and iCloud.

    Thanks!

I am currently having this problem. I have turned off Reminders, turned it back on, rebooted my phone, entered the password, and tried everything else in this thread but nothing seems to work. My calendar is not syncing either.

It helps. Although in my case I'm fixin' to enter my password every once in a while, once a day at the outside as the thing comes back to how it was eventually. So it's not really a fix until it's keeping your password. I mean, who wants to log in to Settings - iCloud on the iPhone once or twice a day just in order to keep his reminders properly synced.

I'm also annoyed that I have to keep entering my password for iCloud. As long as iCloud is synching my drive, photos, backups, shouldn't my password be automatically remembered until I log out? Makes no sense to me why I have to re-enter my password.

    >>>I did find out that my date setting on the iCloud web site was wrong and set to United States when it should have been  UTC +2 h . After this I got the reminders to sync

Thanks a lot! I tried everything above this message, but only this one helps.

My time zone settings are correct. I've found that creating a new reminder on my phone syncs them. Also, manually syncing calendars forces Reminders to sync.

But I feel like none of these are acceptable options as it still requires manually doing something.

Accessing my iCloud settings as suggested above, triggering a login, solved the Reminders failing to update on my iPad Pro with iOS 9.2 just now. How long ago was this first reported to Apple? Apparently Apple is never going to get this stuff to just work.

iOS has become a mess ever since iOS 7. iOS 6 was excellent.

they still haven't fixed the bugs with this forum and iOS autocorrect, either (autocorrect doesn't work on each new line here in this text box). No attention to detail at Apple any more. They know droid is worse, will rest on their laurels, and eventually will let their competition catch up like it did with desktop operating systems in the 90s.

That worked for me. I noticed that the remiders not syncing were the ones that were created long ago, with repeating set to every day or every week that I'm still using today. I think that the default setting is one month, and that was the reason why those reminders were not being syncronized, unless you changed something on the reminder note or status. Now that sync all is set it started to sync all of them again.

    Thanks!

I have been very frustrated with sync issues on reminders. I tried this solution and for last two days the sync has been working like a charm. Many thanks.
