Q: I downloaded a book on my macbook as a sample, purchased it from my iPad. On my macbook it still is only a sample. I've synced both devices but nothing changes. How do I get my sample to change to a purchased book on my macbook?

I originally downloaded a sample book on my macbook pro then decided to purchase it and did so from my iPad. On my iPad it shows as a purchased book but on my macbook pro it still is a sample. I've synced all my devices but nothing changes. How do I get my purchased book to show up on the macbook?

    Hello there, malott186.

It seems you're trying to download your purchased iBook to your MacBook. The following Knowledge Base article offers up the steps to do just that:

iBooks for Mac: Update and download purchased books

If you are still unable to update your book, then this article offers up another way to get to your previously purchased content:

    Download past purchases

Download previous purchases on Mac or PC

Make sure your Mac or PC meets these system requirements:

    • iTunes 10.3 or later
You need iTunes 10.6 or later to download previously purchased movies and TV shows.
    • iTunes account in a country where iTunes in the Cloud is available

    iTunes Store

    1. Open iTunes and go to the iTunes Store.
    2. Click Purchased in the Quick Links section.
      Quick links
    3. Select the content type that you want to download (Music, Movies, TV Shows, Apps, or Books).
    4. Select Not in My Library to view purchased content that isn't on your computer.
      Purchased screen
    5. Find the item that you want to download. You can browse using the menu to the left. If you have more than 2,000 songs, you'll see Recent Purchases instead of All Songs or Albums.
    6. Click the Download  icon next to the item you want to download.
If an item is already in your library, the Download icon won't appear.
