how to sync files between ipad and laptop with usb cable

I would like to know if its possile to syncronize files between ipad and laptop using the USB cable.

You can sync music and films/tv programmes to the iPad's Music and Videos app via cable via your computer's iTunes : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1351
For other apps, some support the transfer of content to/from them via the file sharing section in your computer's iTunes : iOS: About File Sharing
And/or they might support the transfer of content via your wifi network (or via Dropbox or email) - different apps support different methods of copying content to/from them.
