Q: How do I delete dead space at end of track?

Some of my songs end with a guitar strum, or another instrument that decays over time. At some point, there is no more sound. Is there an easy way to see when there is no more sound, so I can trim from that point to the end? I sometimes end up with 3 or so seconds of dead space. Since I'm eventually placing the songs on an album, where the song "gaps" will be used to add dead space.

Anyway, what I sometimes do is turn the volume all the way up at the end of the song to try and "hear" the dead space, but you would think there is a better way to do that.
