Q: After installing ios 8 auto rotate not very responsive

SInce updating to iOS 8 my iPhone 5s does not immediately auto rotate when awakened from sleep mode.  I have to now rotate my phone to landscape first then back to portrait mode before the auto rotate feature works properly.   It does not seem to matter what app I was in.  The apps always open in landscape no matter how I left it.   I have not tried doing a full complete reset of my phone which I may have to end up doing.  I just get so tired of every uplate having issues.
