what does "Cannot open remote host, error: DSOpenDirServiceErr" mean?

I got this message while following prompts to see if my computer has been hacked. Has it?

Is that what 'remote host' means?

If so, how do I break that connection?

MacBook, Mac OS X (10.6.8)
