I am trying to delete a secondary Admin user account on my Macbook Pro. It's been 24 hours, and it still says, "deleting account..." in System Preferences. I can't close System Preferences or restart. Any suggestions?

It might be possible to force quit the System Preferences and re-deleting the second admin account successfully.

I tried forcing a shut down several times by holding down the power key, but System Preferences cancels the shut down each time.
