How to block ads in Safari?

On my MacBook I use Adblock to block ads in Safari. Is there a similar way to block ads in safari for iPad? I know there are other browsers but I like to use safari because I have a lot of bookmarks set up and if I move from Mac to ipad it knows which page I was on.

MacBook Pro, OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.3)

Hi lizmoss,

Safari has a setting to block pop-ups.

iPhone: Managing Pop-Ups in Safari

To Block or Allow Pop-Ups

From the Home screen choose Settings > Safari, then turn Block Pop-ups on or off.

Blocking pop-ups stops only pop-ups that appear when you close a page or open a page by typing its address. It doesn't block pop-ups that open when you click a link.

Best regards,

Nubz
